Expanda Fuzz news

For those following along, my noise post-punk project Expanda Fuzz launched this year and we’ve had a pretty sweet 6 months! From releasing our first EP ‘Bleuets‘ on limited vinyl to playing festivals such as Ottawa Explosion and Edmonton’s Up+DT fest, it’s been a whirlwind of fuzz to say the least.

Next up, we play Ottawa’s Megaphono Festival in February and plan to release something special as part of that show.

If you want to stay in the loop with this project, sign up for our mailing list on our site here.

You can also follow Expanda Fuzz on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Chris solo

My next show will be Saturday, January 14th at Irene’s in Ottawa playing with my friend Susan O for her record release party. I’m looking forward to getting back to playing some solo material from Volume Vs. Voice and Smoke Machine, among others.

I’m currently working on new material, so be sure to sign up for my mailing list to hear about release dates first! You can sign up on the top right of this page.

Camp Radio too

With the demos for our new LP finished, it’s time to get this record going in 2017! It’s been 10 years since our first LP and 5 since Campista Socialista came out. I’d say it’s time for a new one, you? :)

Finally, thank you!

As always, thank you for your continued support whether it’s downloading, listening, buying or simply reaching out on one of my social media networks to say you enjoy my music. Your kind actions keep me going and make me think it may be worth sharing more music in 2017.

I’ll be playing two sets for Alberta pals this coming Saturday, October 8th in Edmonton as part of the Up + DT festival happening there from Friday to Sunday.

I’m at the Cask and Barrel for a solo set with Craig Schram. This one is an afternoon show, starting at 4pm sharp.

It’s been awhile since I’ve played a solo set so I’m looking forwarding to revisiting some songs from Volume Vs. Voice and Smoke Machine!

Plus, it’s also been awhile since I’ve spent a Saturday afternoon in a pub. Hello, Danger Bay.

You can find the details for this show on the Up + DT site here. The official Facebook event is here too.

On Saturday evening we’ll turn to our multiple fuzz pedals as Expanda Fuzz plays its first ever road show at 9:30pm at the Downtown Edmonton Community League with Clinton St. John and Slow Down, Molasses.

We’re currently picking which pedals to pack for the trip, so come along and see where the fuzz takes us!

You can find the details for this show on the Up + DT site here. The official Facebook event is here too.

Expanda Fuzz also released two new tracks recently! One is in tribute to Maurice White, singer of Earth, Wind & Fire.

You can listen in and read the details on both our Bandcamp and Soundcloud pages!

Expanda Fuzz covers Rough Trade’s High School Confidential

Covers are always fun and this one was a blast.

Expanda Fuzz was recently asked to contribute a Canadian cover song to a great collective of musicians here in Ottawa called ‘The Centretown Recording Alliance‘ to celebrate Canada Day.

We chose the iconic Rough Trade song High School Confidential and thought that it was the perfect track as Canada Day also coincided with the Pride celebrations going on in Toronto that weekend.

Meltingplastic’s artwork for the track pays tribute to Carole Pope‘s lyrics during the song when she compares her fixation to 50s bombshells, including Mamie Van Doren!

And just the mention of that name will put Ms. Pope’s iconic, sultry lyrics bouncing around your head.

We’re liking this cover and hope you think we did it justice:

Follow us on Soundcloud and see more of meltingplastic’s artwork for the growing Expanda Fuzz song catalogue!

Hey all,
Just a quick note to let you know I’ll be on the Claridge Homes Stage this coming Saturday July 9th at 1pm.

I’ll have some friends joining me on stage and we’ll be playing most of the Volume Vs. Voice record, though I will have a few oldie treats for you as well!

I’m looking forward to being a part of this great festival once again and playing some of my songs for you.

Hope to see you out there in field…
